About The Marlow Society 

The Society 

The Marlow Society is a registered charity (no. 262803) dedicated to the preservation and development of Marlow and the surrounding villages and countryside. 

We seek to represent all those who live in, work in, shop or visit our beautiful town situated on the banks of the River Thames, in the foothills of the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. We are a large society and our membership continues to grow. If you would like to become a member or know of someone who might be interested in joining, please click here for further information.

The Marlow Society was established in 1960 

We have over seventy years of experience of supporting Marlow residents and visitors. In 1857 Marlow Bridge Preservation Society formed to prevent the 1832 suspension bridge from being dismantled and replaced by a modern structure. The bridge continues to be a critical focus for the Society and the people of Marlow. The Marlow Bridge Preservation Society became The Marlow Society in 1960.
