The Transport and Traffic Sub Committee of the Society takes an active role in monitoring all aspects of this topic and cooperating with responsible authorities. The Sub Committee takes part in working groups and meetings called by the Local Authorities. It provides comment on draft plans issued by National Government and the Local Authorities. It seeks to influence aspects of traffic management by lobbying the relevant Councillors. Issues of current involvement are the proposed third runway at London Heathrow airport, the Special Parking Area and the protection of the Marlow Bridge from overweight vehicles. Special Parking Area. [SPA]. The planned introduction of an SPA will change radically the management of parking in Marlow. Responsibility for the enforcement of the existing regulations will devolve from the police to the Wycombe District Council. Changes to the parking regulations may well follow.
