Draft Planning Brief - September 2005 The brief set out the planning guidelines for the development of the area, owned by the John Lewis Partnership, after use for a temporary Waitrose store. The Society's comments on the District Council’s Draft Planning Brief for this town centre site expressed our serious misgivings about the proposals and about planning guidelines being drawn up by the landowner’s consultants. We are concerned about:
Draft Supplementary Planning Guidance: Our objections were, inter alia, the proposed Link Road design, the number of dwellings proposed (80), four storey levels, the inadequacy of the service roads and rear servicing and the general departure from the Adopted Local Plan.
