The River Walk

The River Walk traces the importance of the River Thames to Marlow from Saxon times through the Middle Ages to the present time.  It is probable that Marlow came in to being in its present location because of the opportunities for trade along the river, the source of power which the river offered and the opportunity for waste disposal.

The history of Bisham Church and Bisham Abbey, Court Garden, Higginson Park and William Tierney Clark’s wonderful suspension bridge are all discussed during this illuminating walk.
